PROJECT PORTFOLIO Aviation Projects Port Columbus Airport Consolidated Rental Car Facility McGuinessUnlimited provided order of magnitude program costs for various design alternatives for the planning of a new Consolidated Rental Car Facility for Port Columbus Airport in Ohio. This project is located on a 55 acre site and consists of a new customer service building, ready return area, services center sites and possible onsite wetland restoration.   Various alternatives for site lay out were examined which ranged in construction value from $35 million to $48 million. Akron - Canton Airport - Safety Improvements to Runway 5-23 McGuinessUnlimited is providing construction administration, constructability reviews, construction marketing, and bid/ award support for the Safety Improvements to Runway 5-23 for the Akron-Canton Airport in Ohio.

The 23 end of runway 5-23 is not in compliance with current FAA criteria for runway safety areas.   In order to bring runway 5-23 into compliance, the following work will occur: one million cubic yards of soil placement, 10 acres of wetland mitigation, gas line relocation, 6,500 linear feet of 8" sanitary sewer relocation, underground utility construction, 1500' runway extension and parallel taxiway extension, and construction of associated navigational equipment including ILS, PAPI and MALSR.   This is a multi-year phased project with a construction cost of $100 million.

Jamestown Airport - Safety Improvements to Runway 7-25
McGuinessUnlimited provided construction scheduling and constructability reviews for Jamestown Airport Safety Improvements to Runway 7-25 Project.

Both the 7 end and the 25 end are not in compliance with current FAA criteria for runway safety areas.   In order to bring runway 7-25 into compliance, the following work will occur: 400,000 cubic yards of soil placement, wetland mitigation, utility relocation and construction, 450' long tunnel construction, half mile of road relocation, and construction of associated navigational equipment including ILS, Glide Slope and MALSR.   This is a two year construction project with a cost of $10 million dollars.

Transit Facilities

Greater Cleveland Rapid Transit Authority - Puritas Rapid Transit Station
McGuinessUnlimited is providing construction cost estimating during the schematic design, design development and final design phases for the Greater Cleveland Rapid Transit Authority Puritas Rapid Transit Station Project.

This project consists of completely demolishing the existing transit station and constructing a new 9,000 square foot station in its place.   The new facility will consist of a residential station, head house, main station, new parking lot and site improvements.   Construction work will occur along active tracks with limited shut downs.   The construction cost is $ 7 million.

Greater Cleveland Rapid Transit Authority -   East 55th Street Station
McGuinessUnlimited is providing construction cost estimating and scheduling during the schematic design, design development and final design phases for the Greater Cleveland Rapid Transit Authority East 55th Street Station Project.   In addition, McGuinessUnlimited is providing value engineering services.

This project consists of a new 800' long platform, new Head House, new main station building and associated site work.   Construction to occur along active tracks at night with limited shut downs.   Construction cost is $ 10 million.

Higher Education

Cleveland State Baseball Stadium
McGuiness Unlimited provided a conceptual program estimate to allow the University to secure funding for the   $ 6 million dollar Cleveland State Baseball Stadium project.

Cleveland State University does not have a baseball stadium on their urban campus, and currently buses their team off site for practices and games.   Their intent is to raze four city blocks to construct a new 500 seat baseball stadium with field turf.   This stadium would include a press box, concessions, rest room facilities, along with dug outs and batting cages.
